Was looking for a multi piece travel rod under 5’6″ and this fit the bill. I’m 5’6″ and when flick / roll casting I occasionally hit the ground when casting. Primarily target LMB but will fish for what ever will bite.
Paired it to my Calcutta Conquest BFS with Verivas pink 0.6goh and Maxima 4# leader. I fish mainly micro Ned rigs and Neko rigs with a .88 gram nail weigh with 4-6 inch worms. The tip is kind of soft so had to adjust my release point to make accurate casts. Very sensitive tip, can feel the contour of the bottom and slight “ticks” in the retrieve. Since I felt it was a little slow I did have to wind down to get a good hook after that the rod did all the work! Rod has great action through the ferrels. Under light load it “shuts off” around 2/3 of the blank and under heavy load will bend all the way to the handle. Was able to land a 2# 8oz and a 3# 14oz LMB. I feel this is great double duty stick than can do it all. I highly recommend for your first dual purpose travel rod!
