I have never thrown the 300$+ JDM reels, but I can’t imagine they would be able to perform any better than this reel does. I put the internal brakes on level 2 and it outcasts all my other reels significantly. And the drag is very very smooth.

I bought this reel for my daughter, but I wished it was mine when it arrived! I have a couple of Daiwa reels (the Zillion, and Gekkabijin) This reel is casts right with them! It is smooth and has a great drag. After a year of use it is still a solid performer. I will not be able to justify the higher price tag of big name reels next time I buy a reel. This will be what I buy as long as this reel is made. Exeptional value!
