Packed with Shimano’s newest high-end reel technologies, the newest Aldebaran BFS is designed with a focus on adaptability, comfort, and precision. The Aldebaran BFS is suited for a wide range of finesse styles, from mountain stream trout to finesse bass fishing and even light game saltwater fishing.

In a first for Shimano, the Aldebaran BFS incorporates their latest iteration of the highly popular MGL (Magnumlite III) spool technology into a bait finesse spool, making for an extremely light and durable spool that is capable of high precision casting from 2g and up. Aided by a newly revised FTB (Finesse Tune Braking) braking system that moves all of the braking components off the spool and into the sideplate, the Aldebaran BFS allows for a high range of braking adjustability for magnetically controlled casting. With the brakes set to their lowest setting, the FTB system allows for a true free spool for longer casts.

Built from Shimano’s proprietary Hagane body material and incorporating Shimano’s CI4+ carbon, the Aldebaran BFS is lightweight and comfortable to palm for all-day excursions. Aluminum gearing utilizing MIcromodule II for micro teeth that mesh over a wider surface area and aided with Shimano’s X-Ship design, the Aldebaran BFS offers an extraordinarily smooth and durable retrieve. Equipped with carbon matrix drag washers for up to 8lb of smooth drag and with Shimano’s Exciting Drag for an audible drag clicker when the line is being played.
