Built to the design specifications of legendary tournament pro and bait finesse pioneer, Yukihiro Sawamura (The Father of Bait Finesse), the Grassroots Engage Knives Series Bait Finesse Rod models deliver unparalleled performance at the highest levels of competitive bass fishing. Blank construction starts with a thin prepreg that is wound in multiple layers under extremely high pressure to create a base that is consistently lightweight and strong. The Bait Finesse specific models are then built using Grassroots’ unique Premium Synthetic blank design that combines graphite of various elastic moduli within different sections of the blank and an aramid synthetic fiber laminate to create a multi-taper action that offers sharp casting, deep flex, and a powerful butt section. Utilizing Toray NANOALLOY Polymer for the resin, the rod blank is further reinforced to withstand crushing under load and during lifting, resulting in a highly durable rod that is surprisingly lightweight and offers superior sensitivity.

The Grassroots Engage Knives series uses a specialized Micro Guide setting based on the Fuji KR concept. By following the bending curve from tip to butt and placing a guide at each apex, the line closely follows the true bending curve of the blank for a more natural response. This increases the casting distance and accuracy when casting and suppresses twist under high loads in order to realize the full fighting potential of the blank. By utilizing premium spec titanium frames and SiC rings, the balance and sensitivity of the rod are enhanced, while lightness is maintained through the use of micro guides. Comfort and control are maximized by the use of an original C6 Carbon Fiber reel seat that features a downsized trigger and hood in order to retain freedom of movement of the wrist when casting and provide a stable platform for gripping a variety of reels. Premium quality cork is utilized for the split grip handle design and foregrip, ensuring all-day comfort and a firm hold, while the handle lengths and spacing have been carefully calculated to provide the ideal balance and control of the rod. Finished with anodized gunmetal and gold aluminum alloy windings, nylon resin butt end, and a laser-engraved aluminum butt cap featuring the Grassroots logo.
